FOUNDER
Sophie Engelen’s work explores and unearths subtle perspectives on personal wellbeing. A lifelong learner, she has over 20 years of experience as an esthetician, makeup artist, massage therapist, health & nutrition consultant, herbalist, and ongoing student in the modalities of holistic healing, and plant medicine. Aloïse is inspired by Sophie’s love of the natural world —a passion inherited from her late father, and that she hopes to pass down to her two daughters. Her philosophy was further enriched by a period of living in Los Angeles, where she continued formal herbalism studies while connecting on a deep level with the local community of holistic healers and experts in traditional plant medicine.
Through this intuitive and holistic take on awakening through the senses, Sophie is guided by evoking an awareness of and reverence for botanical ingredients as healers, keepers of wisdom, and representations of pure beauty.
